Texans sign first-round pick Kareem Jackson
The Houston Texans have signed first-round pick, Kareem Jackson. Jackson was the 20th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft.
The deal was completed just in time, the Texans open training camp today. Jackson was considered one of the most NFL ready players in the draft after starting for 3 years at the University of Alabama.
The Texans have now signed all of their draft picks from this year's draft.
The deal has a maximum value of $16.3 million with 10.35 million guaranteed. Jackson received an 11.6% overall increase over Pettigrew's deal from last year and a 10.1% increase in guaranteed money. Last year's 20th overall pick Brandon Pettigrew received a $14.6 million deal with $9.4 million guaranteed.
