ESPN to air first Applington Parkersburg game

ESPN will send four commentators to Parkersburg next week for the Aplington-Parkersburg home opener against Dike-New Hartford on Aug. 28. ESPN is going to be broadcasting the game live and also host a pregame show. It's the first gamein Parkersburgmore than 30 years without legendaryEd Thomas, who was murdered June 24. The commentators are Reece Davis, who anchors College Football Live and other ESPN programs, will call the play-by-play. Former New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs coach Herman Edwards and former Ohio State and Detroit Lions linebacker Chris Spielman will provide analysis. Reporter George Smith will be reporting from the sidelines.
